Article Summary

New Enhancements to Inventory and Order Detail Screen for DSCSA Support will be released in the next few days. Please read through the article for more information.

Dear Valued Customers,

We are pleased to introduce exciting new enhancements to the Inventory and Order Detail Screens, designed to streamline order creation and ensure compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA).

New Feature: Serial Number Selection in Inventory Screen

To support DSCSA compliance, we have introduced a feature that allows users to select a serial number when creating an order. This enhancement improves inventory tracking and ensures better traceability of serialized items.

Key Changes & Enhancements:

How to Use This Feature:

  1. Navigate to the Inventory Screen while creating an order.
  2. If an item has a serial number, a “+” sign will appear next to it.
  3. Click the “+” sign to view and select the desired serial number.
  4. Use the search bar to search by serial number or barcode if necessary.
  5. The QTY column will display the number of serial numbers selected (e.g., 5 of 10).
  6. For items without a serial number, the ordering process remains unchanged—simply check the box next to the item and specify the order quantity.

New Feature: Order Details Screen with Outbound EPCIS Support

We have introduced an enhanced Order Details Screen to streamline order management and support outbound EPCIS transmission for DSCSA compliance.

Key Changes & Enhancements:

How to Use This Feature:

  1. Navigate to Orders Menu > View Orders > Create Order (click link) or select Open Orders.
  2. For New Orders, fill out the required fields, including Buyer and Ship To.
    • Note: Users can utilize the Magnifying Glass option. This search feature displays sites with GLN / sGLN in bold, ensuring accurate selection.
  3. Add items to the order using Barcode Scan or by clicking Add Items from Inventory. (Refer to the Inventory section above for guidance.)
  4. Click the Validate EPCIS button to verify EPCIS data before submission.
    • A green checkmark indicates successful validation.
    • If any required data is missing, a red error icon will appear. Hover over the icon to view details about the error or missing data.
Note: The system will only send EPCIS data if it passes verification and the order is marked as closed.
